Carthage College's Zach Lillig (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) led the Red Men to MCVL wins over No. 13 Dominican and Benedictine over the weekend and has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Player of the Week on offense.
The sophomore middle blocker led the Carthage offense with 17 kills (2.13/set) and finished the weekend with a remarkable .789 hitting percentage. Lillig added one dig and seven total blocks to go along with 21.5 points during the two wins, averaging 2.7 points per set.
The Northbrook, Illinois native hammered eight kills with a .600 hitting percentage in a 3-2 win over Dominican and added nine kills with a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of Benedictine.
No. 3 Carthage (18-1, 8-0 MCVL) will face No. 15 NYU and No. 8 Stevenson at home Saturday.
