Wittenberg University’s Joel Sotos (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) led the Tigers to sweeps of Olivet, Adrian and Hilbert during the week and has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Player of the Week on offense.
The freshman outside hitter led the Tigers with 31 kills (3.88/set) for a .600 hitting percentage. Sotos added eight service aces, 21 digs, three total blocks and finished with 40.5 points.
The Dublin, Ohio native tallied 15 kills with a .722 hitting percentage against Olivet and added 11 kills with 16 digs in the sweep of Hilbert.
Wittenberg (3-0, 0-0 MCVL) will face Cal Lutheran, North Central and Juniata at the Wittenberg Invitational over the weekend.
