MCVL Honors Baldwin Wallace’s Esteves, Mount Union’s Koszelak with Weekly Awards

MCVL, U.S.A. — Following a weekend of nationally-recognized results around the league, the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Jacob Esteves, of Baldwin Wallace, took home Offensive Player of the Week honors while Peyton Koszelak, of Mount Union, earned a selection as Defensive Player of the Week.

Esteves showed out for the Yellow Jackets with 29 kills in a massive, five-set victory for No. 15 Baldwin Wallace over No. 7 UC Santa Cruz. The junior right side hitter posted 5.8 kills per set and hit .386, racking up 29.0 total points on 57 attack attempts. Esteves has played an integral role in BW's 8-0 start as one of the Yellow Jackets' top attacking options. This is Esteves' first career Offensive Player of the Week honor and the second of the season for Baldwin Wallace as Owen Huynh earned this honor in Week Two.

Koszelak picks up his second Defensive Player of the Week award already this season, following up his nod from Week One. The junior libero racked up 53 digs and had just two reception errors in 58 serve receive attempts. His 3.79 digs per set helped the Purple Raiders to a 3-1 week. This is Koszelak's fifth career DPOW honor, adding two from 2026 to his three from last season.
